we are the oysters & the pearls

We take the fodder of life,

the gritty, the grainy, everywhere sand.

 

And we work with it, 

and work with it, and work with it.

  

And, little by little, we see  

the transformed sand  

emerge as pearls.

  

  

We are not surprised when sand gets in our shell.

 

We know what to do.

 

And we do it with full presence, love, and wisdom.

 

We persevere.

We stay creative.

We keep our cool.

And we keep going.

 

Because we know, at the end of this dance, we’ll have ourselves another dazzling pearl.
